Marienschlucht (Mary's Gorge)- Kargegg Ruins - Bodman

Boat trip from Landungsplatz in Überlingen to Wallhausen on the other side of the lake. Walk along the banks of Lake Constance to Marienschlucht. The walking route weaves through the narrow gorge. From the Kargegg Tower ruins, an uphill route leads to Bodman Castle. Downhill route after Bodman. Return boat trip to Überlingen approx. 4 hours.

Aachtobel with the Maria im Stein chapel

From Ernatsreute to Maria im Stein chapel through the secluded natural area of Aachtobel to Hohenbodman, the 1000-year-old lime tree and viewing tower. Descent to Ernatreute, approx. 4 hours.

From Parkhotel St. Leonhard to Birnau abbey church

From there, follow the lake path to the Pfahlbauten Open-Air Museum in Unteruhldingen and back, approx. 4.5 hours.

Salem Castle

From there, take the prelate path to Affenberg, an outdoor pen with some 300 Barbary apes in Mendlishausen, and then via Mimmenhausen back to Salem Castle, approx. 5 hours incl. visits.

Start and end: Fruit trail, 'Aubach Kingdom of Heaven' wetland, countryside room, Inventor Workshop Museum (Altheim), Benvenut-Stengele house/Altheimer village centre, old cemetery, nature atelier, panoramic views, Plague Column, Ferienbahnhof train station, former Salem valley railway, natural water park, 'Lohnmühle' Tanning Museum (Leutstetten), panorama path, Silberberg, natural slope well restoration, church/market place, park of senses. An apple appears on signs to show the way along the route. Duration approx. 4 hours.

Heiligenberg holy mountain and Schwedenschanze fortification

Castle and knights' hall Walk to Schwedenschanze and via the magnificent high route back to Heiligenberg. Approx. 4 hours.

Hödinger Tobel

From cemetery car park in Hödingen through the Hödinger Tobel nature reserve down to Süßenmühle, towards the Churfirsten mountain range to Sipplingen. From there, take the Blütenweg along the banks of the lake and through orchards towards Ludwigshafen. Half way along, turn up into the bluff landscape to Haldenhof Guest House and from there, back to the starting point in Hödingen. Or: In the opposite direction from the car park at Sipplingen train station. Approx. 4 hours.
